Page 2: Mini donkeys
Four little donkeys, each as a front-and-back pair.

How to make the little donkey

1
Print at actual size and color fur, forelock and hooves on the coloring page.
2
Cut out front and back; go extra slowly around the tail and between the ears.
3
Cover the donkey front and the gray back with wide packing tape or laminate them.
4
Stack them so ears and tail line up, tape all around and leave about 1 inch open at the bottom.
5
Stuff loosely with fiberfill, yarn or shredded paper and tape it shut.

Safety: Stuffing, tape and small parts are not for children under 3.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

  • The tail is the thinnest spot โ€“ leave a little extra white border there so it won't tear.
  • Gray yarn scraps make a color-matched stuffing if the paper shows through a bit.
  • Stuffing and tape aren't for kids under 3.
  • The donkey also makes a nice figure for a nativity play or a Christmas story.

What kids practice

Kids practice tight curves between the ears and around the tail. Along the way they learn that donkeys aren't stubborn but careful: they stop and think before doing something risky. And a donkey's hee-haw can often be heard miles away.

How big is the donkey?
The large squishy is about 4 inches tall, the mini donkeys about 1.75 inches.

Do I stuff the ears?
