Fun Facts About Utahraptor

Utahraptor lived in the early Cretaceous period, more than 125 million years ago, in what is now Utah – that’s where it got its name. It’s the largest raptor known: about 20 feet long and several hundred pounds heavy. Each foot had a big, curved sickle claw. No feathers have been found with its fossils yet, but its close relatives had them, so scientists think Utahraptor was feathered too. It was discovered in the early 1990s.
