How Did a T-Rex Grow Up?
Like all dinosaurs, baby T-Rexes hatched from eggs. Scientists think newly hatched tyrannosaurs were only about 3 feet long – tiny compared to their parents. Studies of their bones show that T-Rex had a huge growth spurt as a teenager, packing on weight incredibly fast. It reached full size at around 20 years old. Whether T-Rex parents took care of their young, though, is something scientists don’t know for sure.
