Friendly T-Rex mask with a big smiling mouth and rounded back spikes, ready to print

A big smiling mouth, two little nostrils, and a row of rounded spikes on top – our T-Rex is the friendliest king of the dinosaurs. With this printable T-Rex mask, kids stomp and roar their way through prehistoric times. This free dinosaur mask template is the star of any dino party.

Why Kids Love This T-Rex Mask

The big smiling mouth keeps the T-Rex friendly instead of fierce, so even shy kids feel ready to roar. Rounded spikes on top are easy to cut and fun to color in different shades. The front view looks especially impressive on a child's face. For kids five and up, it's the perfect mask for little dino fans.

  • Hole punch for the elastic holes

2
Color
Color the mask any way you like – the big shapes are perfect for little hands.

πŸ’‘ Craft Tip: Color the spikes in a contrasting shade, like orange against green skin. Sponge on scales in a second shade of green for real dino-skin texture.

⚠️ Safety: eye holes, craft knives and hot glue are grown-up jobs. Don’t run or play rough while wearing a mask that limits your view – and never put elastic around the neck.

Fun Facts About T-Rex

Tyrannosaurus rex lived about 68 to 66 million years ago in what's now North America. Its name means tyrant lizard king. It grew to about 40 feet long and had one of the strongest bites of any land animal ever. Its arms, though, were surprisingly short, with just two fingers each. Here's a fun twist: birds are the living relatives of dinosaurs, which makes the T-Rex a distant cousin of chickens.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What age is this mask suitable for?
The T-Rex mask is made for ages 5 to 8. Kids color and cut out the outer shape themselves, and an adult helps cut the eye holes.

Will the mask fit a child’s face?
Yes – printed at actual size (100 %) on A4 or US Letter, the mask is roughly the size of a child’s face. For adults, scale it up to 110–115 % or print on A3/Tabloid.

What paper works best?
We recommend 160–200 gsm cardstock (65 lb) so the back spikes don't bend.

Is the download free?
Yes, all masks and coloring pages on PureSketchy are 100% free for personal use, preschools, and schools.

Is there a German version?
Yes! You can find the German version at T-Rex Maske.
