Fun Facts About Euoplocephalus
Euoplocephalus means “well-armored head” – and it’s true: even its eyelids were protected by small bony plates! It lived in the late Cretaceous period, about 76 to 75 million years ago, in what is now Canada. It grew about 18 feet long and was a close relative of Ankylosaurus. Like its cousin, it had a tail club made of fused bones. Scientists have found lots of its fossils, making it one of the best-known armored dinosaurs. It ate low-growing plants.
