Fun Facts About Pachycephalosaurus
Pachycephalosaurus means “thick-headed lizard” – and for good reason: the bony dome on its head was up to about 10 inches thick. It lived at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 68 to 66 million years ago, in western North America. It walked on two legs and grew about 15 feet long. Scientists still debate what the dome was for: maybe showing off, or maybe these dinos bumped heads or sides with each other. It probably ate mostly plants. So far, scientists have mostly found its skull bones.
