Round orange ball with squeezed-shut eyes and a huge wide-open mouth as if screaming loudly

When the words run out, the screaming ball screams for you. It's the squishy for those moments when everything is too much, and it screams in total silence so nobody's ears hurt.

๐Ÿ“ Step-by-Step Instructions

1
Print at 100% (turn off โ€œfit to pageโ€). Color the B/W version first.
2
Cut out the front and back along the outer line โ€“ the white border is the tape edge.
3
Cover both pieces with wide clear tape, overlapping the strips slightly, and smooth them out.
4
Place the front and back together exactly (colored sides out).
5
Tape all around the edge, leaving about 1 inch open where it says โ€œleave open hereโ€.
6
Stuff with cotton, yarn or paper scraps โ€“ not too full โ€“ and tape the opening shut. Done!

๐Ÿ˜ค Stress-relief tip: Squeeze, squish, toss gently โ€“ for example at the squishy target. More ideas in the guide Squishies for Stress Relief.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

  • The mouth is big, so tape it with two layers so it doesn't tear.
  • Fill the ball softly with yarn so you can squeeze the mouth shut.
  • Squeeze hard if you like, but skip the fingernails, which can nick the paper.
  • Draw sweat drops or zigzag lines around the ball and you can almost hear it.

๐ŸŽจ Color Ideas

Alarm orange
Orange with a red mouth inside looks like a warning shout.
Shock pink
A pink ball that screams anyway is especially funny.
Blue panic
With light blue and sweat drops it looks truly desperate.

๐Ÿ”„ Variations

Scream break
Squeeze the ball when an argument looms, then take three deep breaths.
Target toss
Gently toss the screaming ball at the target instead of yelling into a pillow.
Scream choir
Make several balls plus mini versions and give each a different volume.

Safety: Stuffing and tape are not for children under 3. Never use real food or scented oils as stuffing.

Is the screaming ball only for bad moods?

How soft should the filling be?
Fairly loose so the ball squeezes easily. Never fill it with real food.
