Why Kids Love the Dinosaur Island
A little island of your own: many kids dream of it. Here a dino has one all to himself, along with a palm tree. The waves are simple and fill in quickly with blue. That leaves time for details like sand, shells, or a treasure map. The picture is made for daydreaming and storytelling.

Fun Facts About Dinosaurs on Islands
There were islands in the age of dinosaurs too. On one of them, in what is now northern Germany, lived Europasaurus, a long-necked dinosaur from the late Jurassic about 154 million years ago. It only grew to about 20 feet long, much smaller than its mainland relatives. Scientists explain that islands have less food, so smaller animals do better there. This dinosaur was a plant-eater, and its skeleton can be seen in a museum in Hannover, Germany.
What to Do With Your Finished Dino Island
Glue the island onto blue cardboard and make a little paper boat to go with it. You could also draw a treasure map that leads to the island. Or sprinkle real sand on the island so it feels the part.
