Parrot Mask Template to Color and Craft: Free Printable

Parrot mask with a feather crest and a big curved beak, ready to print

A fancy feather crest, a strong hooked beak, and all the colors of the rainforest – our printable parrot mask is a total color party. Color it, cut it out, and add elastic. This free parrot mask template brings tropical fun to preschool, dress-up, and any jungle party.

Why This Parrot Mask Gets So Colorful

The crest of big feathers on top practically begs for a different color on every feather. A few wide feather bands give small hands big, easy spaces to fill. The large curved beak right in the middle makes it clear this is a parrot. This is the mask where every crayon in the box gets a turn.

βœ‚οΈ Craft Instructions: Turn the Template into a Mask

🧰 What You Need

  • Printer + heavier paper or cardstock (65–110 lb)
  • Colored pencils, markers or watercolors
  • Scissors (craft knife for the eye holes – adults only)
  • Elastic cord (about 12–14 inches)
  • Hole punch for the elastic holes
1
Print
Print the template at actual size (100 %, not β€œfit to page”) on thick paper.
2
Color
Color the mask any way you like – the big shapes are perfect for little hands.
3
Cut Out
Cut along the thick outer line.
4
Eye Holes
An adult cuts out the eye holes with a craft knife or pointed scissors.
5
Add Elastic
Punch holes at the two small circles, thread the elastic through and knot it – done!
πŸ’‘ Craft Tip: Glue craft feathers or feathers cut from bright construction paper onto the crest for a showstopping look. A bit of shiny paper on the beak makes it pop.

⚠️ Safety: eye holes, craft knives and hot glue are grown-up jobs. Don’t run or play rough while wearing a mask that limits your view – and never put elastic around the neck.

Play Ideas for Little Parrots

Play Parrot Talk: one child says a silly word, and all the parrots repeat it. In Color Flight, parrots flap over to something in the room that matches the color you call out. Set chairs in a circle as a tree where parrots perch and hop from branch to branch. Then gather paper nuts into a basket for a parrot snack.

Fun Facts About Parrots

There are hundreds of kinds of parrots, and many of them live in warm rainforests. Their strong, curved beaks crack hard nuts and seeds, and parrots even use them like a third hand when climbing. Each foot has two toes pointing forward and two pointing back, perfect for gripping branches. Some parrots can copy sounds and words. Large parrots can live a very long time, some for several decades.
